Daphne 1.51

Daphne Editor's Review

Daphne is a free system utility designed to help users to manage and debug Windows processes. The program is suitable for beginners and advanced users alike.

The program itself is an advanced task manager and system monitor. It would run in the system tray and display all the running processes together with their paths, threads, priority, class, memory and CPU usage, peak memory usage, swap and peak swap. You can use the program to kill services, create trap, set priority, stop, pause or view their properties. You can also run programs, view hidden applications and schedule system shutdown.

You can also create a service kill menu for killing several services using a keyword (menu name). Besides, there's a window property inspector available as well as the possibility to create a list of highlighted programs based on different variables.

Pluses: The system resource usage is so small, you won't notice the program running in the background. You can set the program window transparency. I can be used in command mode.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: This may be quite a useful tool; when a system crash may be around the corner, this program might be just the solution to prevent that.
